Hey, I just wanted to let you know of a conversation I overheard on the airplane down to Oakland a week or two ago which made me smile. (And made me realize what a small town this is all over again!) Anyway, a woman in her mid-late 20’s behind me in the plane was talking about this wonderful experience she’d just had buying her first home and how fantastic the company was. I’m not making this up. She was really gushing over details and energy and all sorts of things you’d like someone to tell you if you were anxious about dealing with buying a house, which I think her seat partner was. Anyway, she finished it all by saying: ”...And aside from the company in general, my realtor in particular, a woman named Erica, was just fantastic.” It just made me smile and think of you and how well you’ve done for yourself. Erica and the rest of the folks at Portland’s Alternative Realtors were extremely helpful from the moment I walked in the door. Our family of four started our search for a new home this year looking for a modest fixer-upper in Alberta Arts and ended up in a beautiful old farmhouse on a few lovely acres in Estacada. We are writing to express appreciation for the positive experience we had with Darcy during our recent home purchase. I recently bought my first home, and am ecstatic with the level of service I received from my realtor Janikka. While I knew that Janikka had other clients, I never once felt like she didn’t have time to talk to me and answer any questions I had. I purchased my home through Portland’s Alternative Realtors in September 2001. In February 2007 I received a letter from the DEQ stating the filing fee for decommissioning the oil tank was not paid and I must forward $125. I let the DEQ know I did not own the house at the time of oil tank decommissioning and it was the seller’s responsibility. DEQ said they only go after the current owner for fees due and I would not be able to sell my house in the future without paying this fee. I contacted Kundalini at Portland’s Alternative Realtors to discuss the issue. Kundalini promptly researched the issue with the DEQ, contacted the prior owner and arranged for him to pay the fee. I am so impressed with Portland’s Alernative Realtors’ loyalty to their clients. Portland’s Alternative Realtors clearly stands by their clients regardless of the amount of time that has passed since the transaction (5 1/2 years had passed!). I am so happy to have Portland’s Alternative Realtors as my realtors.
