Paul loves being a realtor. The lessons he learned from a 20 year career in food service sales translate seamlessly into the skills needed to help you with your real estate goals. The biggest lesson learned was the importance and impact of good old fashioned customer service. Whether he was leaping out of bed at 5 am to rush product to a customer who had forgotten to place an order or troubleshooting a crisis over the phone while he was 300 feet off the ground climbing at Smith Rock, Paul realized that going that extra step for your customer not only feels great but it also sets you apart from the competition.
Having been through the experience of home buying and selling a few times himself, Paul understands how daunting the process can be. Part of what excites him about being a realtor is being able to use his experience to help alleviate the worry or anxiety and support you through your real estate transaction. Paul has been managing his own rental properties since 2004, having done many of his own repairs and remodels. He has a keen eye for the good, bad and the ugly while assessing a home and can therefore ensure that you are a well informed consumer or a well prepared seller.
Paul has a deep and long lived love for Portland. After road tripping from Missoula, MT to Portland to see Green Day at La Luna in 1993 (a shout out to any of you old school Portlanders), Paul fell head over heels for the city. Awestruck by the creative and quirky energy of the city coupled with it’s amazing access to a wide variety of outdoor activities, Paul packed his bags and headed for Stumptown. That love affair has continued to evolve throughout his 25 + year stint in PDX. So while you won’t catch Paul’s terrible punk rock band playing in any of the local bars any longer, you can definitely hit him up for his opinion on the city’s best pizza (it’s Lovely’s 50/50) or where he and his wife Jana like to have a beer and play a game of cribbage (did I mention Paul grew up in Minnesota?) as well as information on the local rock climbing, hiking, snowboarding or surfing spots.
Paul prides himself on giving authentic and caring service to his clients. He is knowledgeable, yet approachable and laid back. He will instill confidence in you and put you at ease as you take the crucial step in building your independent wealth.

“They are the absolute best! Paul went above and beyond for us. I would strongly recommend them for buying a house in the greater Portland area.”
“Paul at PAR was spectacular at providing advice, prepping our house and marketing it to sell. First off, we were selling our property from Baltimore, MD and second, it was previously a rental. Paul helped create a list of fixes need to get ready and meet with contractors to assure the house was in top shape before listing. Paul helped stage our place and within 2 days we had multiple offers above asking price. The house closed in 30 days and all this happened while we were 3000 miles away. I definitely recommend Paul and PAR!”
“My husband and I had been house hunting for about 5 months. We started to get a little discouraged as not one house felt perfect for our next family move. Then in January 2019, we decided to work with Paul Pattyn. Within a few weeks we found our new home! Paul worked with our busy family schedule. We looked at houses early in the day and evenings, which Paul was available for at a moments notice. He was also very patient with our kids (14 yr old and 8 yr old) antics. In addition, he was meticulous with looking at the houses that we viewed. He would notice things about the house that we didn’t, eg. plumbing, the crawlspace, if the floor was crooked, etc…From the offer to closing day Paul stayed in touch with us with updates on how things were going and what to expect. With his experience and knowledge we felt we were in good hands during the whole process. We are ecstatic to be in our forever home!”
“My wife and I closed on our new home today. We had Paul Pattyn for our realtor and cannot say enough good things. We had a laundry list of criteria and Paul was extremely patient as we went on many tours of homes. In the end, we got exactly what we wanted and could not be happier. Paul is the man and I would recommend him time and again. Thanks so much for helping us to get our beautiful home!”
“We bought our home in Beaverton with Paul as our realtor. He was incredibly thorough and made sure we knew what was going on at every stage of the process. He was responsive and ready at any moment to go look at a home and answer all of our questions.
What I particularly liked about working with Paul was his willingness to go above and beyond what another realtor might have done. Paul is not afraid to get on his hands and knees and look at that leaky plumbing in the crawlspace or go up on the roof to check it out for you. Your home inspector will of course do these things too, but you get this much sooner and clearer in my opinion from Paul.”
“Closed on my house a few weeks ago and Paul Pattyn is the best. He was easy to work with, thoughtful and incredibly helpful through the process of purchasing my first home. I can’t thank him enough for the work he put in, and the anxiety he helped with. Thanks Paul!”
“We had such a smooth and positive experience working with Paul Pattyn to sell our SE Portland home and couldn’t recommend him more enthusiastically! Paul had the extra task of coordinating multiple owners and kept us both abreast of the progress and changing details, throughout the entire process. He was hands on and helpful with preparing the property, handled all of the staging, vendor coordination, photos and wasn’t afraid to roll up sleeves and help us get the yard & home cleaned up and ready for sale, always giving us choices for how to proceed within our budget and time constraints. He was mindful and realistic of the challenges we were facing with the rapidly changing housing market and instrumental in helping to adjust our strategy, sometimes hourly!”
“Paul Pattyn is simply the best… he guided us through this home buying process during a time when the market is tricky. He was patient and kind and when we finally put an offer in, he got down to work and acted like it was his own home he was doing the work for! Such dedication and perseverance. We had a great experience and would highly recommend Paul to anyone…”
